Stefanie S.

What type of work do you do here at Henkel?
As trainee business administrator my field of work here is very diversified. We work in various departments in which we might work after our training has finished. These range from Accounts to Personnel, from Controlling and Marketing to Purchasing. I liked working in Personnel best. I was in the section that looked after managers in the Cosmetics division. There I was given some responsibility right from the start and was the contact person for specific points. I planned an Assessment Centre and carried out tests. Even though I was only a trainee, I was included in everything from the word go and was entrusted with demanding tasks.

On what project have you already worked?
In the second departmental I worked in, I started a telephone survey. It was an independent pilot project and I put it together completely on my own. I searched the data for it, gathered it all together and then conducted and evaluated the acquisition.  The results were good. They were accepted by Sales and put into practice. It makes you proud when you see how well your own work is appreciated, especially when you are a trainee.

What advice would you give to someone starting out with Henkel?
I was very nervous to begin with, but there was absolutely no need. All colleagues are very approachable, and every trainee always integrated into new departments.  Otherwise I can only advise taking advantage of everything Henkel has to offer. And there’s so much, too. I think the way Henkel operates its training is the best thing than can happen to you.
